Highly Effective Voltage Regulator for Automotive Use

The EPBOWPT converter is a lifesaver! As an automotive enthusiast who runs plenty of workshop tasks at home, I need a tool that can handle multiple electrical requirements efficiently. As a result of my tests, I determined that this voltage regulator is ideal for both small and heavy-duty automotive applications. What I like most about it is the compatibility with various voltage inputs, which means it can power up any automotive device. The only con I found is that it might not be the most…

However, this does not work very well for Raspberry PI 4B.

I used it to run a Raspberry PI 4B as a navigation computer on my boat with OpenPlotter. It powers the PI, but I keep getting low power warnings on the PI. The PI draws 3 amps and finds that this buck converter is powering everything else during that time. fully functional. I haven't even put a 5V indicator on the buck converter and haven't gotten a low power warning yet. We'll see how the west happens, but I think I might have to replace this block with something else.

Efficiency 85%, switching frequency 375kHz, current 5A Isc

I measured the following: %efficiency 5.02V * 1.90A out / 12.12V * 1.92A in = 85.3% Efficiency Approximate Switching Frequency 375kHz Ripple Approximately 60mV (between loads tested above) Input 12.1V, 4.5A "short" (my DMM has a shunt of approximately 0.25 ohms ) output current, stabilization within seconds to 5A. Does it withstand 10A output? At 85% efficiency, this is 0.9 W power loss per 1 A output. The device is housed in a small plastic box with no exposed metal heat sink. I doubt it will…
