Guarantee can be worthless!

I bought 2 identical controllers, installed exactly the same one, one worked, and the other immediately smoked! I had 20 days right of return, so it became a warranty case. At first the seller tried to help, but after 2 weeks of providing forms and photos of my system and the damage, it turned out they were just looking for a reason not to honor the warranty. Revain eventually agreed to a discounted refund (-$50) for the defective block. I bought a replacement at full price and now the seller…

Good for high voltage panels. Although a little expensive.

I got this because my two 60 watt panels had a very high "VOC" (open circuit voltage) of 97 volts! My cheaper MPPT charge controller could only handle up to 50 volts. Most modern 24 volt panels are rated at 37 volts, well below this figure. But many "grid tied" panels are rated for 67 volts or higher, and require more expensive charge controllers that can handle up to 100 volts. I liked that you can program the battery type. . (Sealed, Gel, Filled, Li Ion) I didn't like that the controller…

fire hazard. Be very careful where you install this.

I bought this unit 1 year ago. Has worked great until today. It always kept my batteries charged and I was happy with that. Today everything has changed. My setup has a switch between my batteries and the inverter to cut off power to my inverter so the batteries don't drain when not in use. When the switch was turned on today, a spark appeared in the charge controller and it caught fire. I haven't changed my settings in the last 10 months and it's been in constant use ever since. I don't know…

MT50 meter tested with ACOPOWER Midas 40A MPPT compatibility!

Summary: After ordering this MT50 controller, I read the fine print on the EPEVER page that it was only compatible with non-ACOPower EPEVER controllers. After reviewing both manuals I thought this would work with my ACOPower MPPT controller, which I can confirm. Remarks: With this remote meter you have access to all kinds of additional information. It is also easier to set some parameters (e.g. date/time) via the software interface of the remote control. Recommendations: If you need a longer…

Well, while it lasted.

I had a terrible time beating the software but now that it's behind it it seems like a pretty good device. If I switched to "Custom" from a battery type that can't be changed, I have control over the settings. This unit has good solid binding posts which I've heard are very poor on most cheaper controllers with a large heatsink and appears to be of high quality. I plugged it in and charged my batteries for over a month and aside from the charging options which I haven't liked for a while but…

Excellent controller

It was practically plug and play! #5 wire connectors were smaller than I needed. I have 4 gauge wire so I had to trim it a bit. Auto-rotating screens are annoying and I can't read them due to the contrast and lack of backlighting. If I could manually force the screens to move to the next item, I would have the ability to read the screen. Not all of us are in our 20s. I downloaded Epever's station monitoring software along with the 485 cables, which I purchased separately. I was able to connect…

Great charge controller - use a flat head! and spade lugs

Does what it says on the tin and makes a good addition to my 30A PWM controller. Can't really complain about the screws as every controller I've worked with has the same issue would have. It's VERY easy to cut off the heads of the Phillips screws. It seems you MUST use a flat head or you risk running into the situation where the wire terminal screw is completely stuck. .but I was tempted to drop 4 stars for this very issue. The holes you need to put a screwdriver in are so tiny. I found it…
