I don't know how these people did this but I think there is some DSP (digital signal processing) behind the lines to add bass and balance the EQ. I'm surprised that such small speakers produce such a warm and balanced sound, including bass that you wouldn't expect. I grew up with boom boxes and the bass is better than them. I got this device a few falls ago while working at a remote wilderness camp. I have this for sale in today's promotion hoping to solve my patio noise problem. We live near a major freeway and there is always traffic noise on our patio.
