The truth is I bought this and not the smoother plastic because it was the only one made in America. Good enough for me! And it does what it's supposed to do. clean my windows. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it's really smaller than I'd like it to be. Otherwise, if you can avoid cheap Chinese crap and take care of jobs here in the US, then this is for you.

I use this glass scraper in my car. It works better and lasts much longer than any scraper you can buy at any auto store. I used the 6 inch model for over 30 years until I lost it somewhere. I only had to change the rubber part once in 30 years. I actually prefer the 6" to the 8" because you can get smaller areas and reflections with it. The 8" works well but has no real advantage over the 6" due to the car's lopsided windows.

I use it to clean bathroom mirrors, glass porch doors and glass coffee tables. This is exactly what I wanted in a mop.
