🔧 Precision Concealed Hinge Boring Jig for Seamless Door Installations Review

Seems easy to use but difficult to get the drill at the right angle. The plastic sides melted because the drill got too hot rendering this item unusable after drilling 8 hinge holes. Unfortunately money wasted. Since we had over 20 more we splurged and bought a Kreg which is double the price but totally worth it.

I bought this when I ordered Fitside mortise hinges for cabinets: Fitslide E3-17 Concealed latch on hydraulic hinges with soft close for frameless cabinets. The bait was offered in the "Frequently bought together” section. The drilling instructions are for overhead hinges and the required distance between the hinge hole and the edge of the door is 1mm less than for the ladder feet. I made my own lamp out of two pieces of wood. The hinges work great by the way.

There's no guesswork and measuring involved when installing the Euroloop. I have used this bracket on 12 closet doors and it works great. In fact, the default hole position settings worked great with my Euro Loops. One thing to note, the jig is hard plastic and when I drill a hole with a forster bit it starts to rub off in the jig's inner hole. It's okay, but in the end the device might not be that perfectly round. Worth the price as it saves time.

I have fitted many hidden Blum hinges bought from Ikea to cabinet doors I made and I have always using the crappy homemade "jig" that was never quite right. Looking at this picture I could imagine I could bang it against the edge of the door to drill a hole for the mug and then flip it over onto the cabinet to drill holes in the right place for the receiving piece to drill. The drilling jig fulfills its purpose. I would buy again. For the first time user the instructions were ok but some of the steps could have been explained better. Your doors for test drilling. Install the hinge on a test board and then on the cabinet frame. Continue trial drilling until you obtain a hinge hole offset location that is appropriate for your cabinet. Sometimes the published distance of the hinge hole from the edge of the door is incorrect. Take your time to get it right, then drill

What could have been a useful tool just wasn't well thought out and ended up being practically useless. I wanted this to install 38N Blum hinges but there are a couple of issues.1. The picture shown is upside down, it's going the other way, and it's the edge of the screws holding the edge of the door, not the big nice piece of plastic.2.
