We have two cabinets in our bathroom that collect moisture. We've been using DampRid for many years and then we came across these little guys. We've had them for a few months now and they work great. I was tired of emptying the water pan, so I went to Home Depot and bought a plastic angle with a 3/8" ID and 1/2" OD. Using a shovel, I drilled a hole in the side of the tray and used some silicone to waterproof it. I took 10 feet of clear plastic tubing and connected it to a milk container and…

Great Boat Knot - Drain Modified

This is our second purchase of the same knot for our boat and the second that we have modified. The first was in March 2015 and it's still rattling down in the cabin. It's amazing how much moisture this unit pulls out, and it's noticeable with our onboard stored snacks and meals, too. It works so well we bought another one to reduce cabin humidity this winter. However, since we can't always be on the boat to drain the tank, we modified the units to drain themselves. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the

Monstrous little thing

Bought this little animal thing about 3 weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. I really didn't expect it to work that well. My apartment is a bit larger than what the device offers in terms of size, so I doubted it would do anything at first. It didn't really collect anything for the first few days and I started to doubt my purchase, but after about a week I had 3 cups in the tank. The little beast conscientiously collected about 2-3 cups of water per week and my humidity dropped by about 20%.

DO NOT buy heating, cooling and air quality products

I bought two of these for the apartment my neighbors and I moved into earlier this term as our apartment is very humid. We put one in the bathroom and one in the dining room of our small apartment and they worked really well for a precious few days. However, within three weeks of use, the bathroom one stopped working and began to show the 'full' light as on even when emptied, and therefore would not come on. We examined it and found that the little lever that engaged the float mechanism was…

Inconsistent. suitable for heating, cooling and air quality

I bought my first device in July 2015. Small, quiet and perfect for a small bathroom. He drew water out of the air and collected it at an amazing rate, which made me very, very happy. So please, when I moved to a two bedroom, two bath condo I bought another one for my second bathroom. The second didn't work so well. It absorbs water at about 1/4 the speed of my first, albeit as much. At first I thought it just needed cleaning, so I cleared the airways and dusted off to make sure the metal…

Must be modified to work

Bought for safe use. The reservoir has never accumulated more than a tiny drop of water. I tried putting it in a room that I knew was supposed to pull moisture out of the air (in case the problem occurs in an enclosed space). A similar result is no build in a room where a 70 pint rig was filling up every day or so due to the off-season. Here's my update (8/26/20) - I've tried two different things to make this work. First I replaced the fan with a similar 80mm computer fan from an old project…
