Great power supply!

I bought this for use in a high end custom gaming assembly and it has performed well! I've used custom software to measure my PC's power consumption and even at the maximum advertised power it runs like a champ! However, I found this to be about 100W overkill if you only use a GPU like me (I have an MSI Radeon R9 390 OC Gaming Edition) unless you overclock it and your CPU (Intel Core i7 6700K in my case) . ), this slightly increases power consumption. The GQ version is a bargain because of all…

Pros
  • Useful not just for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Some cons

Much quieter than expected, very happy with this purchase.

slide bearing. I want this system to be as quiet as possible. And boy GQ delivers! At 40% load, it doesn't even spin the fan, so it works completely silently. The semi-modular cabling system is handy, and the standard ATX power rail is the only non-modular bus. In my Corsair C330 case, the power cables match up nicely with the Asus Z170-A motherboard's power rail, so it's a very short and direct route.

Pros
  • . I hold my fists.
Cons
  • . Makes me nervous.

4+ years: Best PC parts purchase I've ever made.

I have owned it for more than 4 years. Through countless experiments, hardware changes, power outages, accidental disconnection of extension cords, cord disconnection at work, and more. It still works fantastic, quiet and powerful. Will 100% never buy anything other than evga power supplies for my core pc builds for the rest of my life if i ever have to.

Pros
  • Only positive
Cons
  • A little change

Need more stars for this and 3 thumbs up!. but i only have 2. lol

perfect fit for me. I can't complain about that. The power supply is smooth and I haven't had any corrupted files since I replaced my cheaper power supply. I like its semi-mode cable system. Choose what you want for what you need and keep the rest in a safe place. And when I add RGB lighting and another GPU, I know I'll have enough power. This is a really good power supply. You can't go wrong with the EVGA 850GQ Gold 850W.

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • small problems

Fan started beeping after 18 months

I've built dozens of PCs in the last two decades and I've never had a power supply unit like this. It doesn't seem like such a big deal, but it's actually so annoying that you can't use the PC. How the hell do I get this thing back under warranty? To get back to business, I turned off the eco switch (which stopped the fan and beeping). It doesn't generate much heat so I'll take a look at the core temp and see if I need a new PSU or not, but I definitely won't be buying from these guys again.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • There are defects

excellent power supply - Computers and Accessories

excellent power supply. for the gold standard, and after much research I bought it from Evga. If you want a good power supply, I suggest you don't buy the fancy G2 and G3. I'm currently using 850 to use up about 300 and it runs on silent which works fine with no sound

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Not your dad's power supply

Dude I've bought a lot of power supplies over the years and always found it silly how they connect all those cords that you may or may not use. I'm not sure why anyone hasn't thought of this semi-modular design for a long time. Besides being a great design, it's a lot quieter than the one that failed. I like that there is a 5 year guarantee. As an added bonus, the price of the 850W was the same as the 750W, so thanks to Revain for that!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some cons

The old power supply did not meet the power requirements, resulting in memory failure. I ordered it as an upgrade and it works great. Customer service was great too. The wires are clearly marked where to connect. However, I still have a few questions about the connections. A living person was right there with the answers. The tester was missing in my box. I told them it wasn't in the box but didn't think it was necessary. They insisted I have it and immediately shipped it to me via USPS. (This…

  • Finally bought

  • Annoying
