EVGA650W P2. - Computer components

This little one is part of my little monster, my own first construction. It will power my i5-6600k, MSI 980 Ti along with other components plus a 4.3 overclock at 1.23v and leave room to breathe. Just arrived and tried it right away. Call me crazy but it's beautiful. The box it was sent in was wrapped and I wasn't the one who received the package so I immediately took it out of the box to check it. The original packaging was in excellent condition and the item works perfectly. Besides, what can

Great looking power supply and I just love it.

Great looking PSU and I just love the rough coloring of the outer shell. This device is ready to use right out of the box and works great. The cables are coiled up very nicely, not too long and not too short. I'm amazed at how quiet this power supply is; I thought it wasn't even on! Not to mention the 10 year warranty gives me peace of mind over the long haul and will keep this unit for future builds. The packaging is very nice and includes many accessories; It even has a compartment for extra…

Efficiency = cooler built but DO NOT activate economy mode

Bought to replace a 12 year old faulty 650w PSU. The symptoms that gave it away were: - Random shutdown when running graphic (or compute intensive) games - Requires unplugging power button on back of PSU to reset PROS: - 80+ Platinum - Fully modular (Mobo, CPU, 2x VGA , 3x SATA, 1 peripheral) - All cables are labeled on the terminals - All cables are braided (black) - Includes bag for storing unused parts - Includes self-tester (closed jumper on the motherboard) - 10 year guarantee CONS: - The…

EVGA reliable and excellent customer service

Hello! I bought this device in October 2016. I had no problems. It was very easy to install and there were many cable options in the box. In my case they look very cool through an acrylic window. No real hissing to be honest, I never heard it through the front speaker which itself is whispering. Recently my computer randomly turned off. I've narrowed it down to the PSU, CPU, or MOBO, with the hardware monitor saying it's most likely the PSU. I contacted the support team and they were very…

but I like the modularity of this source

I haven't had it long enough to see the impact on my electric bill, but I like the modularity of this source. I just wish the cords weren't so stiff. EDIT 4-23-18: So there was a problem a few weeks ago. The main thing is that it switches off under heavy load. I tested the RAM, CPU, GPU and motherboard and they all came out clean, so it's definitely a PSU. I ordered a replacement from Revain and the problem went away as soon as I plugged it into my computer. I sent the defective one back to…

Wouldn't recommend for built-ins

I've tried 2 of these. 650 and 750. When I got the 650 I heard a rattling noise inside the PSU. After shaking, a tiny metal ball fell out. I'm not sure where it came from, but I can only assume it's a ball bearing from a fan. I returned it. Shortly after, I ordered a 750 to take another shot and the ECO mode didn't work properly. The fan turned on every 5-10 minutes regardless of the load. My system draws only 350W at FULL LOAD, so the fan should never turn on. I bought a 750 G2 and the fan…

As excellent as the Seasonic 660XP2 PSU

If you are looking for a highly efficient, mid-range PSU with a good design, look no further. The EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2 is an incredibly efficient and quiet power source. Price offer. Among other 80+ Platinum rated power supplies of roughly the same performance, it performs very well against its competitors from Seasonic and other companies. and 8 hard drives with 3 TB. It handles this hardware with ease and is virtually silent under load - it's certainly not audible given the 470s' built-in…

Another great product from EVGA

The EVGA 650w P2 is based on the Super Flower Leadex Platinum platform, considered by many to be one of the finest available today. Some reasons why I chose this power supply. (1) No for low noise. I currently have ECO mode enabled, but I've tested it in both modes. My conclusion is that you don't want ECO mode off and the fan spinning all the time. (Why fan noise at all if you don't need it). I assumed that running the fan all the time would provide better cooling, but it's not necessary. The…
