I don't understand the fan

I don't understand why my old PSU had a fan on the back where you plugged in the power cord and removed the heat from the back. This fan brings the heat to my Tower, under extreme loads like running VR (Vive Cosmos) and accidentally opening some other apps which was my fault everything started overheating causing multiple heat crashes. It was in the kids' HP update, not the larger gaming tower. so maybe not everyone has this problem, but strange design, i don't understand how it can take heat…

Very good ATX power supply in internal power supplies

A decent ATX power supply is hard to find these days. This unit is quiet, runs cool, meets the 80+ rating (essential for government jobs these days), and is reliable. The combination of pins makes this a good field replacement unit and I have had a few of these units in service at multiple locations where they have been used for field repair replacements and we have not had a single failure or complaint. In general, a good device, I recommend.

noisy fan computer components

thats it i have had an evga bronze block for 6 years and never heard of it now it was fine until i tried to go back to my desk at 2 1am normal but hey , it uses 10-30W less than a bronze block according to my UPS, so that's good. I guess I don't know why it spins even when it's idle on my desk.

What I need for internal PSUs

The fan in my old PSU was noisy at times, so instead of replacing the fan I decided to replace the entire PSU. I was scared about this surgery but it turned out to be easy, about 30 minutes from start to finish! The only thing missing was that the old PS had a cable that powered the LED on the front of my tower that said ASUS, but of course that's not necessary. This device is quiet and works great.

Not impressed. for computer components

Terrible experience. I bought it a week ago and it doesn't turn on at all. I tried running performance tests and got nothing. Everyone says "best value for money," but it's better to just spend the extra money. piece of trash.

Pros
  • There's something in there

  • No insurance

EVGA 500 GD, 80+ GOLD. Gold?

One of the SATA connectors on the hard drive caught fire, melting both the connector on the hard drive and the SATA connector on the power supply.
