Not much to say. I have six tarantula cages so cats don't get in so easily. I kept everything very well. When it came down to it I didn't bother to change the combinations but the instructions were very clear when I wanted to. If my cats can pull this off, remove the latch in my terrarium and open it, I'd still be in big trouble.

Not sure what type of lock would fit an Exoterra cage but this isn't the right one. If you use it because you don't want your child to leave the door open, it won't help. The doorknob may still be left open and the doors open wide enough for a snake or lizard of any size to break out of the cage. I see this can be useful if you are a pet shop owner and want to prevent theft as the thief will not be able to get in and take the animal. We're just worried that our tree boa might come out and hurt…

Use this to lock my snake tank while I'm away in case of an unannounced home inspection where I don't want some idiot messing around with my animals. You just never know. This is a deterrent and NOT the maximum security lock possible as some reviews complain. I'll just leave my default combination and mix up the numbers. People see the castle and will not try to get inside. The kids won't understand. You, the cat, will not understand. Of course someone could just guess at the obvious…
