Exactly as advertised. Well cut quality wood. I don't use them as pen blanks so I don't know about them, but I really don't understand what the problem could be.

very nice things. I wish they were big enough for me to make rings out of, so I don't know what I'm going to use them for now, but gosh, they're beautiful.

A good selection of hardwoods. I used them with resin. He cut them and broke them. Put them in a mold and fill them with resin. I like the house they have become.

Arrived quickly and fully met my expectations. The tree is absolutely beautiful. I bought this for my grandson to use with the lathe I was given and I can't wait to see what he does with this beautiful wood.

I bought these for ebony blanks, they are not dark as pictured. The rest of the blanks are as close as possible to clean lumber that can be purchased at a sawmill for the manufacture of furniture.

Bought as a gift for my husband for a pen/pencil blank set. He offers a good selection of wood for his projects. He can also cut blanks to the size of a bottle cap block, which looks nice when he cuts the shape on his lathe.

Overall the wood is of good quality and sharpens well. I would like the wood to come with a soft wax finish like many wood suppliers do to protect it from moisture prior to use. Also, Purpleheart blanks are of poor quality. They look more brown than purple. However, if you are just starting out with a lathe and want to practice with inexpensive materials, you can't go wrong with this set.
