Works well and is easy to set up.

Works fine! I used it to host a 128GB SSD from a 2011 Macbook Air. The case is metal, there is a nice blue activity indicator.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • old

Did exactly what I needed.

Needed to recover files from an old MacBook Air with a defective motherboard. Took the internal SSD out and put it in here and it came up and my new Mac recognized it and I was able to move the files I needed. Do your due diligence and make sure your SSD is suitable for this product. Don't leave a bad review for not doing your research first.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Poor

Can recover the contents of my old Macbook Air SSD

My old Macbook Air (2010 era) suddenly died some time ago and the only thing I really wanted was to recover the unique files on it - not everything on iCloud secured. This device allowed me to remove the SSD and restore content to my new Mac. The screws are a bit fiddly, but a screwdriver is included and overall everything works exactly as advertised. Just make sure it's the right version for your SSD.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

An affordable solution to recover files from a broken PC.

I took my mother's computer to the Apple Store to see if it could be fixed because she spilled coffee on it. They told me they couldn't even recover the data on it and we just had to replace it. So I decided to buy that and see if I can recover the data. I opened this case with two screws, it was with a screwdriver, put the plate in and screwed it back in, then I put it in the MacBook Air and that was it. Simple, works great. I was able to restore everything and now have a backup disk.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Thing works: Hard drive case

My Macbook Air (A1369) was having all sorts of problems and I couldn't get it to boot or go into recovery mode or target disk mode. This device was the last line of defense. I was skeptical as I had never tried backing up from this type of 6+12 pin SSD before but this device made it very easy and more importantly it worked as promised. I connected the device to my backup Macbook with my SSD and was able to back up from there. Not sure if this is unique to mine, but it took a few minutes for itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

This is a rescue

If you have a computer that uses this type of SSD and your computer crashes, you can save your files by removing the SSD and putting it in this case. I've found that this is the only interface that works with the 18-pin SATA interface that some SSDs use. My 2011 11" MacBook Air was using it and one of the lithium ion battery cells failed and swelled enough to destroy the computer. Luckily I was able to salvage the SSD and restore everything. In fact, I was even able to put the drive on anotherโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Not the best
