This is a very strong and well made spare wheel holder. I've tried others in the past with my particular trailer and they all seem to interfere with some component of the trailer making it almost impossible to remove and install a tire. This spare tire mount fits perfectly on my 3" x 5" boat trailer frame and can mount my 15" spare tire (6 lugs). The photo I took was taken after I put the protective cover on (sorry). I just have two concerns: 1: the lock washers are awkward and difficult to install (don't know why they aren't pre-installed) and 2: the lock bolts don't have standard threads so you can't use eye-tire retaining nuts (and can't use tire retaining nuts as spare nuts I'm deducting a star for these reasons. I just installed this device. It was the only one I could find that would hold a 6-stud wheel. Some of the galvanized coating flaked off at the end of the pipe upon entry. I expect the gear to rust fairly quickly as it doesn't have a strong finish and I will be using it on a saltwater trailer. I had to install on aluminum so I made some plastic insulating pads to prevent the steel from contacting the aluminum and corroding. A wheel with 6 tracks fits, but hardly. Well where do I start. They said it would fit 6 lug to 16.5 wheels. seems to be true. The bracket has 2 slots for the carriage bolts which would be nice as they don't move with the lock washers. BUT you CANNOT use both carriage bolts if you have a 6 hole wheel, the bracket itself isn't long enough so the slots don't come out far enough for the second hole on your rim.
