I use it almost exclusively for mushrooms. However, they cannot be prewashed, otherwise they will ruin the wires. Clean dry mushrooms of debris, cut in half if large, and this works great.

Test of time This is the second order I have ordered from you all. On first use the wires broke. I really hope that doesn't happen with this one. In this case you can be sure that I will not order anything else.

I have used my previous Farberware egg slicer for over ten years but had to replace it when the plastic cracked and the metal wires failed. This Farberware egg slicer cut two eggs before the metal wires buckled. Definitely disappointed!
