They seem to be working fine.

They seem to work great. I lubricated the contact surfaces before use. I have already broken many sandstone slabs with it.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Modern

They do their job. best of power tools and hand tools

Using a hole punch to create pilot holes works quite well. This won't give you a smooth break due to pilot holes, but I'm just looking for a rough size, not a smooth cut or break.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Very good! for chisel

I bought other sets of springs/wedges that are much more expensive, but these are no less good. They appear to be good alloy steel and work well. They were delivered on time. Well done!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • So-so

Great dividers, just what I needed

I have a lot of large limestone rocks in my yard. Some are too big to move. With them and the SRS Puncher I get along with it without any problems. Highly recommended. A lot of money was saved by drilling the holes and then sharing them. Repeated use of a hammer drill is a workout!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Empty

Works great for chisels

I used these to break open a concrete porch. I didn't want to use a jackhammer next to the wall of my house. It worked amazingly, the concrete was between a foot and 16 inches thick. I drilled holes about 4 to 6 inches apart and the concrete broke with almost no effort. They work best with a 9/16 inch hole punch. I think it's worth noting that the concrete contained no rebar or steel reinforcement. I'm not sure how well it would work if it had an anchor.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Works great when done right

Too bad Trow and Holden tanks and springs are no longer sold at Revain. They had a good range of sizes. Why is size important? Because you don't need huge wedges to split smaller rocks, and therefore you don't have to drill big, deep holes that will dull your expensive drill bits and drain your batteries (for those with cordless drills). 3/8 inch wedge splits rocks over a foot deep. Visit the Trow and Holden website and read their guides to learn more. Here I will only tell you the three mostโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Negative is present

Very difficult. for masonry chisel

I was watching some videos about splitting granite and decided to give it a try. I have many in my area. These wedges worked great! I need more so I can share the larger parts. Just make sure you have a 9/16 carbon drill (I have this and it works great with an SDS punch) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4T1GBI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie= UTF8&psc=1 And as suggested by others, use a compressor to clean out the holes before inserting the gaskets. I set mine to 10lbs of pressure so

Pros
  • good product for the price
Cons
  • fragile

They work great all you need is a small hammer

The blocks are solid with even tapers and strong o-rings (required if the rock breaks to hold the pieces together). Light, steady, successive taps easily shattered a solid 8-inch-thick concrete slab that firmly withstood a good 60-pound electric hammer. not perfectly "flat" on mating surfaces, but drill bits are polished with rock or wet-dry paper and work either way. I read somewhere that they're a little brittle - that's because they're brittle hard, but you don't need a big hammer to useโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good product! Lots of money saved.

Wow! Absolutely fantastic! I had several huge boulders in the way of a foundation I'm digging for an extension to the house. I considered buying a rock hammer excavator for $1500 a day to dismantle and transport them. First, I decided to try this ancient method of splitting rocks. 10 assemblies come in a very nondescript tiny box with no instructions. But I watched a few videos online and I knew what to do. I drilled holes with a 9/16 masonry bit every 5-6 inches along the line where I wantedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
