Replacing a leaking gasket on a 2008 Jeep Wrangler 3.8. This seems to be a common problem with a factory gasket that doesn't have sealant in the V valley. That padding plus some RTV in the corners of the valley worked great.
Be aware if you have an aluminum supercharger this will not work! This is for a plastic plenum, I've already opened the box so I'll stick with it. Not all Dodge 3.8 engines are the same, same year. My van was made in Canada.
This is the correct gasket for a 2009 Chrysler 3.8 or 3.3 liter minivan (fifth generation), although Revane said this is not the case. I watched a youtube video on how to replace it, it was pretty easy actually and that's where I got the part number for my van. Fel-Pro even has informational videos on their pads showing you the do's and don'ts. You can also check their website for the correct seal and torque specs.
I had an oil leak on my intake manifold gasket (96,000 miles) and bought this gasket along with the rocker cover gaskets and took it to my mechanic. The intake manifold and valve covers were thoroughly flushed and reinstalled with these gaskets. Now the engine looks like it just came out of the factory. Fel-Pro is a good quality pad that I always buy.
Fits my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country 3.8L (3.3L is probably the same). Good quality Fel-Pro. It is a metal with a thin sealing coating. The factory gasket has small metal pieces under the screws on each end, but this gasket has built-in metal pieces with some gasket material underneath, but I still used a thin bead of silicone in a recess on each side. New upper intake manifold gaskets included.
To refresh the air intake seals on a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. The repair was completed within half a day. Be sure to clean the mating surfaces, use a good oil resistant RTV (like Permatex Ultra-Black) in the corners where the cylinder heads meet the block, and follow the manufacturer's recommended sequence and torque for tightening the bolts.
Not much to add to that. Felpro is one of the leading seal manufacturers in the aftermarket. Never had a problem with their products. This kit comes with a bottom inlet gasket and two small metal end blocks, although do check the box as one of the blocks came loose from my gasket kit. Just reinstalled. No problem. The kit also comes with top inlet gaskets. No RTV, just get a black RTV from the parts store.
Comes with valley seal and top air inlet seal. There were no flaws or quality issues. Be sure to follow the factory tightening procedure and adjustments and installation should go smoothly. Don't forget to put a bead of caulk on each corner! My JK 3.8 was leaking oil from the front and rear of the engine. After replacing the old manifold gasket with this one I had no leaks or problems. Done about 2,000km ago.
