The stem seals are excellent. Perfect replacement for the original part

Stem Seals are great. Perfect replacement for the original part. But I still don't understand how the mounting bushings are supposed to work. I know what they are for, but they don't seem to fit (too big) and I didn't want to risk potentially overstretching the gasket by forcing it.
