Not for Mac Pro tray

This product uses cheaper plastic than some others that are made of metal. I don't recommend this if you're using a Mac Pro with silver trays, they're too fragile and the drive doesn't sit flat. I had to try several times to align the disc correctly, there are better options, take the more expensive one

Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Perfect for iMac SSD upgrade

I bought this adapter to upgrade my 2008 iMac hard drive from a 3.5" mechanical drive to a 2.5" SSD. All fittings from the hard drive provided by Apple are easily transferred to the adapter and fit even better than 3.5. This is my adapter for such updates! Highly recommended!

Compatible with Apple: Computers and Accessories

This SSD mounting kit worked great on my Mac Pro (Early 2008) model A1186. Apparently not all drive mounts are created equal, as I've found out the hard way. I bought two of these, one for the main OS disc and one for a dedicated audio disc in my recording studio. Great mount for older Mac Pros. Quality construction and ideal mounting solution.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Ports mismatch

The purpose of this adapter is to fit a 2.5" drive in the space of a 3.5" drive. The connectors do not match as shown in the picture. This adapter CANNOT be used in a docking station or bay designed to accept a typical 3.5" SATA drive. This makes it useless for what most of us need it for; We could also just use the little metal tray that we can get for just about anything.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Perfect for attaching my Samsung EVO 860 to my desktop

Comes with all screws (4 for SSD mounting, 4 for rack mounting bracket - make sure you use smaller screws use for SSD installation). The holes are perfectly aligned - no modifications required. The bracket and converter place the connector in the right place to connect data and power cables. I don't know why Revain doesn't recommend this mount with the Samsung EVO series! Stable bracket made of die-cast aluminium, gold-plated converter contacts.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Expensive

Excellent quality, perfect fit

Truly one of the highest quality computing devices I've come across. Beautiful finish and manufactured to tight tolerances. I bought it to adapt the SSD to be used in a Kingwing drive carrier in one of my old builds. It turned out to be a good solution for this scenario and at a reasonable price. I didn't look at other adapters until after installing this adapter, so I guess I was lucky, but the high rating of Fenlink adapters led me to this one, and it's well deserved. Saved me a lot of time

  • The best

everything that was promised - works perfectly

is the best SSD mounting bracket I have ever used. I've installed several dozen SSDs in desktop systems, as well as the occasional [traditional spinning] laptop drives. Most adapters are cheap, some are difficult to work with due to small mounting screw holes, non-standard threaded holes, and those that make it impossible to align data/power connectors in Dell or HP mounting shells. It just works and allows for a lot more airflow. I deduct a point for the metal used, looks like cheap pewter. If

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • The sparse manual

Apple / Mac - Ready

EXCELLENT. Works on iMac. Features large, industry-standard outward-facing threaded ports! I have tried many 2.5" to 3.5" hard drive adapters and most on the market are not properly threaded. /threaded for standard screws used on 3.5 inch hard drives. Most of them come with their own threaded mounting screws. This product is different! The screw holes of this product are appropriately threaded so that it can be used in computers. with very...err...let's say "special" drive installation…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
