We recently had to replace the cable on our Dyson and saw that a new filter was also needed. I ordered this and it arrived quickly. It fits perfectly, was easy to assemble and works great.

A set of instructions on how to disassemble the unit for installation is essential. I actually found it useful to drill two holes to access the two screws holding the cover in place. The clips to reattach are just as difficult.

To replace this you will need to completely disassemble the DC39. You'll need a long Torx T10 screwdriver and two packs of refreshment to enjoy your Saturday afternoon. You will also need the rest of the weekend. I'm not used to sticking my face in the exhaust stream from household vacuum cleaners.
