As many have already mentioned, there are instructions/videos on the Internet that will help with the replacement. But it is still a very difficult part to replace. For me, and I'm sure it's the same for most, one of the most difficult steps was removing the filter spool and hose assembly. The next step is to remove the old filter from the hose reel assembly. The knot is held in place by two tabs that snap on either side and must be pryed up to release. There isn't much room for the levers, so removing them was quite difficult. To detach the filter from the hose reel assembly, you must hold the reel (while it rotates to wind the cord) and release the latch in the center of the filter. You then need to do the same to make the new filter rotate in place after the "grooves" line up. Overall I would give it a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 - very difficult but perhaps Dyson designed it to never be removed/replaced. Still cheaper than buying a new vacuum cleaner. The motor disassembly part is easy as there are spade connectors for the wires. Assembling is a breeze compared to reassembling. I have two of these vacuums, I hope the second time will be easier.
