We love our Cougar. They are so durable. We don't need to buy them very often, but sometimes when you do, here they are. If you're buying a wood stove or fireplace, consider getting a Cougar vacuum cleaner. You will love your stove or fireplace even more. A great gift for those who have the duty of cleaning a campfire. These are replaceable filters worth updating every year or two.

I don't usually complain if it's not legal. I've had a Love-Less Ash for 8 years, this time I switched the filters to these 'bargain filters'. .com/gp/product/B0006FKJGE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00) that in my opinion the filters I received didn't work any better than the old tattered set I threw in the trash. Not happy with everyone! I think you get what you pay for.

It is very difficult to measure the efficiency of these filters. As far as I can tell, the vacuum works great, but the smallest particles can get deep into your lungs and cause terrible problems. After using this vacuum cleaner for several years, I am concerned that fine dust particles will seep through the second stage filter because black particles appear in the internal filter. I bought these filter bags to replace the original bags that came with the Love Less ash I bought 24 years ago. The bags must be fireproof and by and large this has been confirmed but recently the outer bag was burned out by embers. The inner bag stayed intact so the ash dust was not thrown out and I only found the problem when emptying the vacuum. I bought an extra set of filters when I bought my Cougar vacuum (reviewed elsewhere). Since I don't have a local supplier, I don't want to be left without a vacuum cleaner for a week if the filter fails. So far the original filters have not shown any wear after three months of use three to four days a week and there is absolutely no dust or ash coming out of the vacuum cleaner, so I'll take the chance and give it five stars.
