A robot that doesn't do much.

At first I thought it was very smart, 3 year old I gave it to for Christmas not so. Maybe better for 4-5 year olds. The robot doesn't move very far, only about 4 or 5 inches in each direction, nor can it pick up objects. The arms don't move unless you position them like that, I mean how you position Gi Joe's arms, you just adjust them. Doesn't really do anything except light up, say a few things, and move back and forth a few inches. Now that I've written that I don't think it's that pretty, it

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • threadbare

Took me over 30 minutes to get the robot out of the box, another 30 to figure out what he did and drive in CVS to get the four C batteries he needs. (Battery included? Not quite. First instruction said replace them immediately.) I was unhappy. and a "challenge" quiz that gets harder and harder. Fun lights, music, dance moves. In fact, he is handsome and strong. My 5 year old grandson figured it out quickly - a useful introduction to programming. His three year old brother will be using the…

A very exciting toy! for toys for babies and toddlers

My almost 5 year old child loves this robot. He really likes all robots from Wally to Transformers. I thought this robot looked too childish for him, if that makes sense. But he really loves it and it's definitely good for a wide age group. I gave it to him for Christmas and he hasn't stopped playing with it. I bought it from Amazon a week before Christmas. Then he found it in a picture in the Amazon toy catalogue, was so excited and asked for it. But he didn't know yet that it was already…

Great for 6 year olds!

I wasn't sure if it was age appropriate based on the description and what it says for 3 to 6 year olds. My 6 year old grandson who is new to programming but loves games like minecraft and others is absolutely obsessed with this robot. He loves the fact that he can make him do things and solving instructions is like a puzzle for him. I really can't imagine giving it to him at a much younger age, although "games" involve basic things he already knows like colors and numbers. It requires some…

Definitely a win. best in musical toys

Oh this little robot is really too cute and funny! It was a Christmas present for my 3 year old who is totally obsessed with robots and Kinderbot was the only thing he asked for more and whatnot. We have played with him several times and I find him very funny. It has fun lights, colors and sounds. It comes with a small booklet that contains "secret codes" that you can use to program it to do things like roll into different shapes like a circle, pentagon, rhombus, etc., and also explains what…

Very well done, challenging and a lot of fun.

It can definitely cover a certain age group. When you open it up and thankfully it comes with batteries, your kids will want to start pressing buttons right away. This works great because it's easy to code or program at the first level. Basically, you just tell it what to do and it does it. Left, right, forward, backward and don't forget to start! At the test level, he tells your kids what to do. The tasks start out easy but get progressively more difficult if you solve them correctly. He…

Cute robot teaches the basics of programming and technology

Most programming toys consist of learning how to follow instructions and perform various tasks by inputting (programming) work steps. This toy is no different, but Kinderbot is way more versatile than some of the other simple toys we've played with. This robot has three buttons that offer different game modes: independent coding, challenges and secret codes. Designed for free play, the code button allows kids to customize their own robot walking patterns with up to ten directional arrow…
