The challenge here is to get him to use some of his secret programming tricks. However, another problem is even more serious. You set up your own mazes/tasks and program them to run properly. For a mom who programmed the maze yesterday, this can be a daunting task. I think everyone loves this part. This little guy is incredibly well made and durable. If he accidentally falls over or goes forward, he will know and stop. I also like the fact that it turns itself off if not played for a relatively short period of time to conserve battery life. It's a fantastic thing in this house because we have batteries! Successfully completing a mission rewards you with a dance, and my kids dance along every time. I would say three to six is a good age range for this toy, maybe even older. Programming it to complete mazes in ten steps can be a daunting task. I would even love it if we had more than ten moves available, but I'm also an adult who loves a challenge. In general, a pretty good toy on the trunk.
