Best vSC for the money

I have used this controller on multiple cars for over 15 years and it has always worked flawlessly. Easy installation with good instructions, everything you need is included. I prefer to solder my connections and use weather proof fittings but the kit comes with enough butt connectors etc to get the job done. I have used this for dual circuit fans, MKVII and Taurus fans.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great thermostat!

Replaced my old control box for my Flex-A-Lite dual electric fans as it was corroded and couldn't change the temperature settings. Everything you need to install is included and works great! It doesn't run as long as the previous unit when I turned off the engine which sometimes ran for a few minutes. It also turns on at a lower power setting and then speeds up, consuming less power on initial startup.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Almost never

I should have bought this before

I didn't realize how easy it would be to upgrade the AC on my old GM SUV. I only had to purchase 3 items for the additional electrical cooling - a Delco AC auxiliary fan (which comes with newer models), an adapter plug and this temperature controller. I love how this gradually turns the fan on and keeps it running for 30 seconds after the engine shuts off. I chose this model with a temperature sensor that fits in the fins rather than a heatsink sensor for ease of installation and maintenance…

  • Dope 🔥

Wrong PWM in spare parts

This controller is not real PWM. Instead it has a soft start, starting the fans at around 60% or 100% duty cycle and binary cycles between those duty cycles around the set temperature. It does not have true PID control of the 0-100% output duty cycle. The unit also makes a pretty loud hum when running the 16 inch SPAL 30102120 fan that I have connected to it. I was hoping this would be a suitable alternative to SPAL. PWMV3 is no longer available, but unfortunately it is not. The amount of…

That's a great controller!

I bought this controller because it was one of the few on the market with useful features that allow you to control multiple fans from one controller without a separate relay. Reliability has not yet been determined, but the kit contains almost everything you need. The only thing I had to buy was a different size battery clip than the one that came in the kit. I also bought extra connectors, heat shrink tubing, and a flexible cord cover from Home Depot for a few dollars. The fans work amazingly

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Useless features
