I needed a very wide table for all my monitors (it barely fit the bill) and ended up with this table. Overall I really like it (I didn't use a mouse pad) and it seems very durable. The legs and structure are made of thick metal, which is nice, and the top is chipboard covered with a nice layer of faux carbon fiber. I chose not to use a mouse pad because it's easier to write on a flat surface and to be honest I think it looks really cool with a carbon fiber finish. The only negative thing I find

I'm sure the top will last a long time but even if not the frame will last forever. I have two laptops here and lean on them with no problem. It feels very strong and stable. I just grabbed the top part in my hand to try and move it up and down, but the movement is very small or responsive.
