Nothing to say. Rinse one out in ex-aquarium water, place it in a filter, and watch it absorb the nasty stuff in your tank. Replace it from time to time. Happy, healthy fish. Watch out for your water friends!

Attached to the pad is a micro filter which isn't too bad other than needs to be replaced when clogged. Kind of a shame as you should never replace it unless it starts falling apart. The micro filter does where you should. I ended up cutting and customizing my own filter pads.

The activated carbon in the filters needs to be changed once a month in our aquarium as it is 150 gallons and if you don't catch the fish they will start to die. I looked at all the pet stores and although my filter was bought from one of them I couldn't find any replacement charcoal anywhere. It's good value for money, arrived quickly and works in my filter.

I bought these thinking it was a branded replacement but I still don't know if it is. It's just awful, the material is nothing like the foam mat that came with the filter first. This stuff is really thin, it's a bit smaller and thinner than what was originally in the filter. It just looks badly glued. I don't think I will buy it again even if the price is good.

I have been using this brand of filter mat for some time, around 2 years on this C4 model. My previous filters were canister filters but after some back surgery they were too cumbersome and mandatory. Now I only use HOB/Hang On Back type filters so they are much easier to maintain regularly. These pads are double sided. Style composed of foam side and other polyester material. I don't use foam alone as I have slightly smaller fish, I find foam is just better for much larger fish etc.

Works great. I am very happy with it. Makes water nice and clear. One thing I want to mention is the warning to change them every 2-4 weeks. I changed them once about a month later and the mesh bag came undone when I pulled it out of the filter. It wouldn't be long before that bag fell apart and all those little black grains of carbon ended up on top and mixed with my beautiful white sand and were impossible to separate. These foam pads provide superior mechanical filtration in the Fluval C Series. They tend to clog and require flushing, but are not uncommon. The fine mesh side does not hold up well to frequent rinsing and can be difficult to rinse well (especially between the fine pad and the corso pad). Although much better than buying Marineland filter cartridges. You don't actually need to buy these as you can just rip off the fine mesh side of your old one and replace it with plastic wadding. I've used them before and they worked great but not anymore. I don't know what changes have been made to these filter pads, but it's awful. The second part of the pad did not pass water properly for 2 days, a small red stick rose on the filter indicating the filter was clogged. I went through 2 pads before deciding to go to the pet store to get the one that doesn't have the second part on the filter, just the normal sponge, part 1. Now it flows fine. I think the way it was made has been changed
