Need carpet or something underneath. On my hardwood floor, the bike just pushed it across the floor and into the wall, preventing the tire from going in and seating properly. Unfortunately the foldable bike floor stand is not suitable for my situation. I have an electric bike that is too heavy for the stand and is tipping over, and the bike will not stand on its own when placed in the stand. If you have a regular non-electric road bike, mountain bike, or hybrid bike, I'm pretty sure a foldable bike floor stand will work for you. It's a well-made and solid construction. I recommend this bike rack to all owners of non-electric bikes.
