Good basic radio Best portable audio and video

This isn't the kind of radio you usually carry around the house playing your favorite music. But when an emergency strikes, this little radio can be your only source of outside news/weather. It's made of durable hard plastic and the solar charger seems to work adequately to provide enough charge. Why wait for those dark nights without power and you stumbling in the dark - buy this radio today and save yourself that 'just in case' moment.

Cons
  • Something different

Disappointed. And that was a great idea too.

I bought this item as it was perfect for camping or hiking. On the first hike the radio failed completely, tried new batteries, tried the handle but the radio wouldn't tune to the FM frequency or the weather. He seemed so strong too. The flashlight works, the alarm clock works but the radio doesn't. I had never given a star before but it must have been a surprise at camp as the kids didn't have electronics. It was just a terrible disappointment.

Deserved a permanent place in my emergency kit

When Hurricane Florence hit southeast North Carolina, we lost all power and were unable to run our generators for a few days. During that time, this little handheld radio was our lifeline for communicating with NOAA weather, local radio calls, to keep our phones charged in hopes of resuming cell service and light during the dreaded penetrating night winds. I must have turned that crank a million times but it never let us down and when it was over it went straight to the emergency stockpile to…

Slightly disappointed - Weather Radios

This was a Christmas present for my husband. I think I should have looked into this better, but we found that the device doesn't have a headphone jack. So there is no way to listen to the radio privately. The second disappointment is that the LED panel underneath turns on when you tilt the solar panel to better capture the sunlight. Which completely defeats the purpose of solar charging. We haven't found a way to turn off the LED bar. It simply turns on when tilted up and off when laid flat on…

Big bang for your buck.

This little item is great especially when you are working with a small bug bag. This radio runs on 3 AAA batteries and has a lithium-ion battery that can be charged from the start or charged with solar power. This radio also has two lights, one is pretty bright and the other is decent. The radio itself is pretty good for $20, it can even connect to local weather reports and AM or FM radio as usual. All in all, the thing offers a lot for twenty euros and can even charge USB devices. I think it…

Must be on all the time to get alerts

Which weather radio needs to be on all the time to get alerts. This one apparently. If you live in a part of the country where the weather is changeable, get used to hearing the NOAA buzz CONSTANTLY. nope While this device has plenty of handy little things, like a siren (to call for distress), a solar panel, and reading lights, it really doesn't do its main job of sitting still until a weather warning goes off. Send back. What's worse, there are no instructions included. The downloaded online…

Buyer BEWARE Complete piece of scrap 100% garbage

Bought for a reconnaissance trip to Philmont. The block NEVER worked. Eventually the scouts took turns, but to no avail. A complete waste of money. Very light and thin device. Never been able to load anything. Could never use it for radio because it didn't hold a charge. Customer service was a joke, they argued with me that this piece of junk had so many other "good" qualities that I would have been happy to just put batteries in and enjoy the radio. Big. I paid almost $40 for an AM/FM radio…
