Carbide Freud. Great product that will last as long as you do your part. (Don't hammer your work into it) Any 1/4" bit can break if you're not careful.
Great tool. Good quality and packaging, this is the best hard plexiglass packaging, so you can keep in the original packaging, no chance of cutting yourself on sharp edges. I will buy again.
The bit's blade edge breaks off after the first five seconds of trying to cut into a clean pine log. Without staples and nails. no metal I bought Fragments of Freud expecting their reputation to be good. I will not trust their products that much from now on.
I use other beats here and there. But Freud has a great website to help the CNC user. They take the extra time to post useful information on their website. Your feed and speed calculator is amazing. I appreciate what they do for all of us. This is a great example from Freud for your CNC use.
I used this attachment to cut channels for the plexiglass windows I'm installing in a barn style four door bypass closet. The channels were cut in two passes at three consecutive depths and required no sanding at all! I look forward to seeing what else I can do with this beautiful piece once my renovation is complete.
Well I buy Freud for the quality and durability of the bits. This is not the case when I used my router table. Used this beat maybe 6 times. I have contacted Freud in the hope that they will fix this, I will update if I get a reply. *** Update, almost a month has passed and Freud still hasn't answered me, lost the client forever. I hope you think twice before spending money on a company that doesn't care about their customers. ***
I used this bit and it broke in under 5 inches and cut 1/2 inch. It broke just enough to shorten the length of my denture. I later tried again and this time it split into 3 more pieces just by touching the wood with the blade. I couldn't find a small piece for a photo. I don't know how to contact the seller here. My husband said not to break it to such an extent that we could have just gotten it with broken metal, our cheap cheap china pieces don't even do that. Very disappointed!
I bought this for a CNC router. I measured all my end mills before using them and this one came in just under the advertised 1/4". This is not a problem for me, as I always enter the actual diameter of the end mill in my CAM program. I've never found an end mill that exactly meets advertised specs, but I don't buy end mills for more than $100 because the software corrects for diameter inaccuracies for what I do. This end mill works great with hardwoods and plywood. I prefer the straight grooveβ¦
