Worth buying exact size bits

I made the jig I use to make exact size dados but I've had a lot to do for plywood cabinets so I have these bits bought to speed up the process. . I've heard complaints that exact size bits aren't worth the money due to different plywood sizes, but that's not my experience. I have plywood from multiple batches and had no problem attaching it to the baseboard.

Pros

Good quality, does what it's supposed to.

I bought it because I'm a layman and a carpenter newbie. Freud bits are of excellent quality and very sharp. I'm always skeptical when I buy new instruments and I'm surprised when they live up to my expectations. You didn't disappoint us. They cut through wood like butter. Tested on pine 2x4. I have no doubt that they will last a long time. I used a 3/4" drill bit on 3/4 cabinet quality plywood purchased from Home Depot. Plywood fits perfectly, no play. However, before purchasing, I measured…

Great beats, insanely sharp. I hate dealing with Freud's beats.

I used a 3/4" bit to cut a 1/4" deep dado out of maple plywood for closet shelving. The cut is very clean, with only a little lint from the veneer, which is easy to sand. For my particular plywood, the dados were very tight. Next time I'll adjust the bracket, making sure to make a second pass on the other side of the cut to give the shelf a little more room. I also used a 1/4" bit to cut large holes in some 4" plywood. Worked great - cut wood like clockwork. There was quite a bit of veneer lint

  • Bits for Doors and Windows
Cons
