I bought it because I'm a layman and a carpenter newbie. Freud bits are of excellent quality and very sharp. I'm always skeptical when I buy new instruments and I'm surprised when they live up to my expectations. You didn't disappoint us. They cut through wood like butter. Tested on pine 2x4. I have no doubt that they will last a long time. I used a 3/4" drill bit on 3/4 cabinet quality plywood purchased from Home Depot. Plywood fits perfectly, no play. However, before purchasing, I measured the exact thickness of the wood with a digital caliper and you should do the same.
