Did what it was supposed to

Just what I needed for a 1 3/8 internal door so I could make a raised panel on either side. I've never made a life size front door before. Very happy with the results. Very sharp bits, cut white oak like butter.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Some problems

for False Panels Best in Power & Hand Tools

Great cut but really for a variable speed router. I bet if it was used at a speed, burning wood would be inevitable. So painting on MDF is no problem. But if wood is exposed, get a variable speed router. Beautiful finishes but left as advertised.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • A lot

Leaf tab on raised field over 1/4 inch thick

Bit works great. It cuts cleanly and smoothly, leaving a near-perfect raised panel. The only disappointment, if any, is that the tongue of the raised plate is thicker than 1/4″, which requires removing wood from the back of the plate to match the style and rail slot (1/4″), which is created by most styles and routers.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I bought this complete with a cross bar and rail to make some oak kitchen cabinets; These beats are worth every dollar. I followed the advice of removing 1/3 of the material on each pass. There were no burns, the cuts were absolutely perfect. In combination with posts and railings for a perfect fit of the partition wall. The post and rail drills are incredibly accurate, the joints fit together perfectly.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Makes nice raised plates

I was concerned about using the 3 1/2 bit after reading some reviews comparing it to starting a jet engine etc. I've personally found this bit reliable, cutting MDF and pine are very easy, and I've made beautiful embossed panels for some of the cabinet doors I've made. Obviously you need to have a variable speed router and set that router's rotation speed to an acceptable level (I believe in my DeWalt router the dial setting is '2'. You also need to make a few passes; in my case it was…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
