The size given is not exact. I ordered two sizes as recommended by other reviews. The cut of this top is unusual and probably won't fit most people. This jacket is really cute but when you wash and dry it even a low jacket needs to be ordered at least once Size larger but maybe a 2. I was going for a XXL (18) to wear over sweaters and such next fall but instead it fits him now. After washing and drying it seems to fit more like 14 or 14-16 at most.
