Niche product but works

This is a niche product; I bought these because I need to remotely connect to Windows PCs that don't have a monitor attached. Microsoft updated Windows to disable monitor output when the computer doesn't recognize that a display is connected and some remote desktop programs aren't recognized as monitors - hence they are needed to trick the computer into believing that there is a monitor. They work fine. for me and does exactly what I expected with no hassles or software.

No HDR support Best in Computers & Accessories

This headless adapter works well and with 4K resolution. I use it to speed up my PC when playing Moonlight (with GFE). Moonlight now supports pairing with HDR mode, but when my monitor is off and streaming with moonlight (headless adapter plug-in), I don't enable HDR mode. But when I'm just using my monitor (no headless adapter), HDR mode works fine.

Great workaround for what appears to be built into operating systems.

This is great for linking notes or viewing attendees/videos while sharing slides in virtual meetings. I wish this had come with my Mac software to show me a thumbnail of what is currently displayed on the emulator. This would help me every time I use it to confirm I'm sharing the correct screen/content with my remote audience.

no 4k at 60Hz; preferred (default) is 1920 x 1080 @60

Product works but it's important to be accurate when describing such hardware hence 2 stars. There is an omission and an error in the description.1. The preferred screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz, so that's what you get when you plug it in; 2. 4k at 60 Hz as advertised does not exist. Below is a list of available modes, starting with running "modetest" on a Chromebox (Linux). The modes are communicated directly via the key and are the same regardless of the system used (Linux, MacOSโ€ฆ

NOT 4K as advertised

I wanted to use this device instead of a UHD screen to do some software development work for 4K displays. Disconnecting a real 4K monitor and plugging in an emulator immediately dropped the resolution to 2048 x 1152, which is NOT 4K UHD (3840 x 2160). If this unit hadn't expired I would have returned it instead of printing this review!

Great for computers that stay in server closets

I had no idea they even existed or what they were for, but I can tell you I'm sorry I didn't find out about them sooner . Look, I have a laptop with a very low screen resolution. Whenever I connected remotely, some images didn't appear. When this device is plugged in, it thinks the resolution is better than what the screen is actually capable of, giving you a good picture. In short, if you only use your computer to connect remotely, get this device. Your screen matches the resolution of theโ€ฆ

Happened! fits computer cable adapter

I bought this so I can remotely connect to an Ubuntu system and still view my desktop in full 1080p rather than 600x400 or so. There's probably another way to do this, but this was easy and worked great. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because I tried to do the same thing with a Windows PC and for some reason it killed the OS. Find out. Anyway, I would definitely recommend this product to all non-windows users (or at least those at my level of experience).

I don't know why others say otherwise in reviews but. Ghost DEFINITELY 4K. As they claim. Of course you can choose a lower resolution, but it supports 4k as it is clearly stated. I was a bit hesitant so I hope this helps those who are unsure. I was looking to get a CompuLab ghost but I've seen several reviews where the ghost's head was literally broken inside the computer and the price was higher back then. when it's almost twice. As for the design, the plastic seems flimsy, so it's best toโ€ฆ
