We have several rack servers that disable graphics cards when no monitor is detected. They keep systems running even when the KVM disconnects from them. Very few KVM switches include proper emulation to keep systems running even when the KVM is switched. This product served as a faster and cheaper way to achieve the same result.

I use this to boost the performance of my eGPU on my Macbook Pro. I think there is a bug in Mac OS that makes the eGPU run faster when multiple monitors are connected and from my testing this seems to be true. It works great to improve my graphics card performance. It's getting warmer, but not dangerous. It's a little annoying that Mac OS sometimes opens windows on this fake monitor and I have no way to access it without disabling this key, but until there's a better solution I'll keep using…
