It is a sturdy bed, I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback and she can sprawl out on this Goliath bed and still has room to move around on it. I read many reviews before purchasing the 4XL Lounge Bed and like many other reviews I do have a few minor complaints. Well, I just received the bed a few minutes ago so I can't say how sturdy or easy to clean it is. I ordered two sizes of this bed (one for each our 75# chocolate lab & our 40# lab mix) and both dogs love them in their kennels. I can’t speak to the sturdiness of them for chewing dogs as neither of mine are chewers, but these wash very easily. They aren’t the most luxurious dog beds on the planet but they’re a good quality foam that has held up over time (at the time of this review 9 months of daily use with virtually no change since the day I got them)

My 10 year old, 65 pound lab transitioned from a worn out loveseat to this Orthopaedic bed without any hesitation. The side and back bolsters provide her with plenty of support for her head and back as she loves to sleep on her side and back. I cover the cushion with a fleece throw to keep the shedding hair off it and so I don’t have to wash the original cover as often. I also purchased the bed frame that raises it off the ground. I ordered the 3XL for our 42 lb Siberian Husky because she sleeps LONG. She would hang off of other bolster beds. The bed arrived rolled, compressed and sealed. It has a cover that goes over the foam for sanitary reasons. I suggest using the cover if your dog gets too hot on a foam bed. The foam was already covered with the outer fabric. I have a finicky 15 year old farm dog turned city (long story short, I took over her care after my grandparents moved into assisted care). Ordered the tan medium sized mattress. Instead I received A grayish blue GIGANTIC Mattress. As you can see…. this is a bit to big for him. Not the same size or color. Bed seems ok but my Siberian Husky doesn't like it. Bought it for my blind Husky because her jerk sister (mini Aussie) likes to steal her bed when I go to work. Maybe in time she will grow to like it but the Husky prefers the circle type so she can curl up in it and feel safe. I got this for my two Cani Corso. They both fit on it comfortably and love it.The cover is easy to remove and clean. My one issue is the waterproof cover ripped when i put it on out of the packaging. It still works for now, but it really should be more hardy.

Dogs love it, cannot complain. Clean up from occasional male dog leg-lift mess is easy. Smells wash right out with added borax to the wash load.
