Excellent purchase! on Marine Electronics

My husband needs this so he can see his TDs and the speed is very accurate, this machine works great on our shrimp boat.

Pros
  • Marine Electronics
Cons
  • No paint required

Does its job well. It's especially nice to see that it offers all three legacy versions of the NEMA standard for custom output. I needed this to hook up an old (fussy) stabilizer circuit. Went like clockwork. The only problem is that when tracing a route, the "Destination" function is limited to the nearest waypoint. I don't understand this as I'm always interested in the ETA for the last waypoint of a cruise. Otherwise excellent quality.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Not a bad machine but with some serious flaws

I had a Furuno GP31 that worked great for over 20 years. Unfortunately, it stopped providing accurate data in April 2019 due to a GPS rollover (weekly data from satellites is transmitted in a 10-bit word that only handles 20-year weeks). I bought a GP39 which works fine once installed. However, the appendix does not meet the requirements. It works great when bolted to a table, but you can't mount a GPS display on a vertical bulkhead. Otherwise, the display will tilt down 45 degrees and becomeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best price and performance in its class
Cons
  • Disappear
