Advanced, watch-style dive computer with 1.4โ€ color sunlight-readable display (36% larger than previous model) in an elegant yet rugged design. With six dive modes as well as multi-GNSS support and ABC sensors โ€” including an underwater compass โ€” know every part of your dive from entry to exit (GPS tracking does not work underwater). Pair with the Descent T1 transmitter (sold separately) for integrated pressure monitoring on up to 5 tanks via the SubWave sonar data network, and see remaining air time, air consumption rate and more for you and other divers within a range 10 meters. Features enhanced wrist-based heart rate estimates and Pulse Ox (this is not a medical device) sensing of blood oxygen saturation to support advanced sleep monitoring and altitude acclimation at high elevations. Includes built-in support for multiple sports apps, advanced training features, contactless payment, music storage with premium streaming service support (subscription may be required), smart notifications for calls, texts and calendar alerts and more. Dive log lets you store and review data from up to 200 dives right on your wrist and share and review dives in the Garmin Dive app downloaded to your paired compatible smartphone. Best I have ever used, great product for anyone!

I have been looking for a smart watch combined with a dive computer for a long time. Working with a transmitter, as an addition, for those who do not plan to use it, you can take a cheaper model. In all other respects (well, appearance) they are exactly the same. Like a watch: a presentable appearance (I'm just dragging myself from the appearance -), comfortable, light, before they used a dive computer with a watch, took it off at night, my hand got a little tired of them. I donโ€™t take theseโ€ฆ

  • All advantages are described in the technical specifications. Analogues simply do not exist!
Cons
  • Price. Expensive, of course. And not an intuitive menu, I had to dig deeper and annoy the TP employees.

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

Initially, I needed a dive computer. Someone likes suunto, someone praises teric. I am sure that these are excellent diving devices, but I donโ€™t see the point in buying one to go to the sea to dive 1-2 times a year, and then put it on a shelf. Therefore, the choice fell on garmin. That is, its combination is rather a plus for me - you can use it in the simulator both on a bicycle and as a watch.

Pros
  • Lightweight and stylish looking. A convenient watch format (maybe a slightly fat watch compared to the same suunto, but pushing such a combine into a watch format is also an achievement). Customizable interface (within its limits, of course), the ability to install different widgets and programs for yourself. Bright display, moreover, the display does not fade in the sun, but it feels like it reflects light and looks brighter. I donโ€™t know what technology they used, but according to observations, it is. The battery is definitely a plus. Carrying it to a service center and changing the battery in the 21st century is somehow not comme il faut. Good battery life - went to the sea, charged and forgot. Definitely a plus - integration with the T1 transmitter. Someone prefers the old-fashioned way, with a pressure gauge, but one thing is certain - with a transmitter, you can get data on the rate of oxygen consumption depending on depth / temperature / load without separate measuring "swims" and in the future, it's better to plan your dives.
Cons
  • Price. Even with a discount from under the floor, it's still a very expensive pleasure. Soft. No, it is not buggy, the clock did not freeze, but there is a feeling of some dampness, not quite intuitively convenient. But, I think, this is all fixable and such moments will be finished. The pedometer has a large measurement error - if you want accuracy, do not forget to wave your arms when walking))

ideal for diving

After looking at a million reviews of this watch versus the Mk1 and Mk2 I settled on the Mk2i. Unfortunately, a new wave of COVID hit our country immediately after I received it and we found ourselves in isolation. So I'll have to check later. :(. The battery life is around 15 days (with normal use). The mobile app (Dive) works fine. It's a bit confusing which app to use as I have Quatix 3, Fenix 5x and now Descent Mk2i have.

Outstanding Technology

This item is amazing! Huge battery life and days of data collection. The functions aren't very intuitive, but after a few hours of playing around you can really focus on how you want your watch to work for you. It has a very large face that may look strange, but it wears very well and is comfortable for viewing dates. I'm a very sensitive sleeper and don't even realize it's on while I sleep. So far I'm shocked.

Excellent dive computer with excellent activity tracking

I'm really amazed by this watch. I've been using WearOs smartwatches for a few years now and I'm concerned that some features may be lost if I switch to Garmin. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised as I don't see any flaws at the moment. The battery life is impressive and the tracking is also very good and detailed. The only OOB feature I'm not very happy with is sleep tracking. I found this a bit contradicting and it usually underestimates the amount of time I've slept. The most annoyingโ€ฆ

Great versatile watch!

I switched from the Fenix 5 to this Garmin watch because I'm diving again and needed a watch that could do it all. And the boy does! Even if you only use it as a dive watch, it's perfect! It's small enough to carry all the time, but big enough to easily display all your diving information underwater. The air integration is impeccable and being able to track your friends' air levels and consumption rates is amazing! Watch! They're not overly heavy, and while they also track sleep, I find them aโ€ฆ

I've only had it for about a week. A fantastic, feature-rich dive and sports watch with a sub-par heart rate monitor that puts the $99 Fitbit to shame. If you get this and aren't interested in heart rate monitoring/PulseOx, you're going to love this a lot. Used it on 3 dives and also 2 rounds of golf (because the Garmin Golf is built in). Copes fantastically with both of these activities. However, if you want an all-in-one device that can also track your heart rate accurately, this isn't theโ€ฆ

Good albeit more expensive smartwatch/dive computer hybrid

I've used this on a number of random (air, 25m max) dives and have been impressed so far. It's a good dive computer with better connectivity and exports than some of the Mares units I've used in the past. Having GPS on the dive computer is handy for entry and exit points and the APNEA function works well. The display is easy to read on the surface and in the water. It's also a good smartwatch. I am/was a primary user of the Apple Watch and the Garmin product is impressive. Custom watch facesโ€ฆ

Jury on the award. For divers or Fitbit enthusiasts?

I bought 2 units for my wife and I after seeing a guy raving about one of them during Jamaica Diving Week in January. We migrated from Mares Puck Pro units which have done over 200 dives with no issues (1 needed a battery change which I did). The Mares device is very simple and precise, although we wanted something more sexual and without the immersive features. The Garmin Descent MK2i is a beast. It takes a lot of practice to use it properly and even get it right since I opened the PDF manualโ€ฆ

If you get this and aren't interested in heart rate monitoring/PulseOx, you're going to love this a lot. Used it on 3 dives and also 2 rounds of golf (because the Garmin Golf is built in).
