I bought these as warning lights for an RV project so got the 12 volt DC versions. These guys are great! About 1 inch wide and bright, you won't miss anything illuminated. The panel I create should be larger than expected, but it should work fine. I had several colors, 10 in total. They require a 7/8 hole to install, so I'm going to use a hole saw instead of a speed drill, which isn't accurate or clean enough for me.

Do yourself a favor and when you get this set of lightbulbs just throw away the red and orange ones. I don't know why the LED configuration of these two lights is different from the others (6 visible SMD barleys instead of 2 bright ones). The lighting is so poor that you can't see it in a brightly lit room or forget to use it outside. Unfortunately I ordered 3 packs before I found this. It's still a reasonable price you pay for the whole package even if 2 are thrown away.

In direct sunlight it's hard to tell if a lamp is lit unless an identical block is lit next to it (or it's blinking). Brightness is not a problem indoors or at night. The part that attaches to the panel contains LEDs of the same color as the lens, but the lenses can be swapped out, which really distorts the light output, so just leave them together. I'm using it in a humid environment (and in direct sunlight) so I'll find out what the IP rating of these devices is.
