Timing Belt Kit for Elantra 2006

The timing belt kit was a great deal. It took me a while to install the belt, water pump and pulleys. My only real problem was getting the idler pulley tension right. The instructions that came with it were good and helpful. I am happy with my purchase. I'm glad I saved a lot of money by doing it myself.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Low Repairability

Suitable for Kia Spectra (06 EX) and (08 SX)!

I have restored the timing every 100,000 miles on 2 different Kia.1s. Kia Spectra EX2 2006 2008 Kia Spectra SX This kit fits both Kia models perfectly! The kit comes with instructions but be very careful when installing everything! If sync is off it could completely destroy one of these motors!

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Hard to say

Matches perfectly with the 09 Tuscon 2.0L. 5,000 km and no problems.

Everything fits and seems to fit just right. As noted by other reviews there is no alignment notch on the water pump pulley joint which makes alignment very difficult given the close spacing on the 09 Tuscon but that was the only issue. Tensioning took a few tries when I found I had to use a second tool to keep the knot from turning while I tightened the main bolt. Not a product defect, but a design.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • No machine

Good price. best spare parts

Works perfectly, everything is built in, everything is fine, only criticism is that the idler pulley supplied cannot be used as the bolt from the factory pulley does not go through it. Someone else commented on this and is browsing too, so I know I'm not the only one feeling this way. For this reason I only used the old one. I hate it, but when you're out there tearing up something you just want to make, it took a while, it's not a job for you at home in the garage. You have all the necessary…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

Water pump failure/ Gates Lifetime Warranty not honored

Water pump failed after only 2 years. The Gates lifetime warranty complaints department only seems to be working on delaying and denying your complaint under various pretexts until you give up. Revain is not an authorized Gates dealer and does not meet the Gates lifetime warranty. For the same reason (justification), Gates doesn't seem willing to honor its warranty if a part is bought from an online store. The rest of the kit (timing belt, tensioner and pulley) works well after driving 50,000…

OEM quality timing belt kits

Just installed today. Don't forget to order the drive belts as they will need to be removed and will likely need to be replaced at intervals between the timing belts if you have not done so recently. The factory parts are made by Gates and look identical to the aftermarket parts except for the notch on the water pump that other reviewers have mentioned. The instructions say to remove the valve cover and place the wrench on the camshaft, but this is not necessary unless the belt has slipped and…

Good replacement kit for Hyundai 2010

I spent a day installing this timing belt kit on my 2010 Hyundai Elantra 2.0. Everything went well and now has 60,000 km left because Hyundai recommends changing the timing belt at 60,000 km. Replacing and exchanging some parts is a bit difficult due to the space available, but with a little patience it is possible. Better than spending $400 at the dealer to get it done unless you're mechanically inclined. I'm a 72 year old retired mechanic so I have the tools to get the job done - it just…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
