💡 GE Lighting 12979 40W Incandescent Bulb Review

No joke or exaggeration. Got them Thursday and installed two in the evening. The first died on Friday evening. Second on Saturday morning. Changed them on Saturday afternoon. The third died on Sunday evening. Fourth Monday evening. Changed on Tuesday morning. It's Wednesday and the fifth came out this morning, so I'm expecting the sixth to come out sometime in the next 24 hours (probably around 12).

These bulbs should be packed alternately with the socket up and down. Mine were and were well received. None are broken. But when packed at the very top or at the very bottom they become too tight and break as other reviews point out in their photos. The soldering at the base should be centered and smooth. Two of mine (see photo) were uneven and off center. Chances are they won't work well or for long. GE just sold that division. i understand why

I have been using GE bulbs for years with no problems. Yes, they tend to burn out, but they usually last at least a year or two. Four out of six of this pack will burn IMMEDIATELY. Big flash and nothing. There's obviously an air leak somewhere, or they weren't properly sealed at all. I contacted Revain customer service and they immediately offered me a refund. But still I'm disappointed to say the least.

I have been buying these lamps here from Revain for many years as they are rarely available in nearby stores and I have never had any problems. I like the light these bulbs give off and I was happy with them. However, since I ordered 12 of these pears on 06/03/2016, 4 of them have already been assumed. They are expected to last 1.4 years if used 3 hours a day. I've only had her for three months, and during that time I've been away from town for a month. Was very concerned by many low rated reviews stating they were either broken or didn't work. I needed 5 vanity lights for my bathroom mirror and wanted incandescent bulbs to avoid CFL/LED issues. I ordered 2 sets of 6 bulbs just in case and initially only 2 of the first 5 I installed worked. eventually they all clicked and worked. I've been using GE 40 watt Reveal G25 frosted bulbs in my bathroom fixture for years. My bathroom fixture uses 8 bulbs so I have a lot of experience with 40 watt Reveal G25 frosted bulbs. I would buy a box of three lightbulbs from Home Depot every few years. Lightbulbs bought from this seller blew out immediately.
