I use them to replace my CFLs in the basement when they go out. CFLs started to fail 1.5 years after installation and since they contain mercury I settled on LEDs. I have 6 of these at the moment and I like that they glow instantly and the light is the right intensity and color.

I'm looking for an elusive LED lamp that doesn't buzz, flicker and lasts as promised. These bulbs worked fine for the first two (although they don't dim very much) but they only lasted 3 years in a place where the lights don't shine that much (corridor above). LED pricing is based on the promise that incandescent bulbs will far outlive traditional incandescent bulbs, but that's not the case.

A near perfect replacement for a traditional BR30 spotlight with great looks (simpler than the Philips equivalent and very similar too traditional) ). The only problem is, even though it dims with the right LED capable dimmer, it still speaks a little brighter than your incandescent bulb. It also dims without changing color temperature, which you may like (if you want a neutral, soft white even when the light is dimmed) or not (if you want the brownish light of a dimmed incandescent bulb).

I bought two boxes of 6 bulbs each from a local utility. The instant discount brought the price down to $2 per bulb (I live in New York so not sure if this is available in every state). Anyway, I don't have dimmers, just on/off. After 7 months a lightbulb flashes from 'full power' to 'half power' as if one side of the rectifier (which converts AC to DC) is failing/defective ORRR one of the capacitors on one side of the rectifier is dying. At least for a product with a multi-year guarantee…
