🔧 Enhanced GE WR17X10706 Refrigerator Dispenser Actuator Review

This part is easy to replace - the original still worked but became very troublesome after many years of service. I also changed the spring. Easy to do.

I have an old fridge and bought this part because it looked like the one I had. However, it was a reflection of what I needed, so it didn't fit. I gave 5 stars because I got my money back immediately.

If you have frost in the ice dispenser area of your GE fridge this is the correct part where the ice door flap rotates. However, the door damper rubber seal (part WR17X11653) is what usually fails and in my experience both this door handle recess and the spring associated with it are usually fine and do not need to be replaced. On the other hand, these two extra parts are so cheap that there is no harm in swapping them out if the dispenser unit is already disassembled.

My ice dispenser got frost and I just had to buy a new door. But I have decided to replace all parts involved in the ice dispensing process as a precaution. Even though my fridge is about 6 years old and I clean it regularly there are a lot of nasty things in it when I take the dispenser apart - mold and splatter inside - I'm so glad I bought all the new parts. The parts have to be OEM and so far everything has fitted smoothly and the drive has done its job well.

This replacement part was purchased for a GE Profile Artica PSi23NGPA - with custom bezels. It works great, but it wasn't easy to fix. We also purchased a genuine OEM GE WR62X10055 Dispenser Solenoid Valve and WR17X11653 Ice Door Damper from PartsBroz. Compatible with GE refrigerators. Using all 3 pieces, my husband was able to fix a flap door that wouldn't close after ice was dispensed.
