Description of GEARWRENCH 17 Piece GearBox 12 Point 🔧 XL Double Box Ratcheting Wrench Set, Metric - 85989

72-tooth ratcheting box end needs a minimal 5° to move fasteners vs. 30° for standard wrenches. Off-corner loading design on box end provides better grip and reduces fastener rounding. Size conveniently stamped on both ends of the beam for quick identification. 0° offset on non-ratcheting end for breaking loose stubborn fasteners. Manufactured from alloy steel for better strength and longer tool life. Bright, full polish chrome finish easily wipes clean and resists corrosion. Included tray for storage and organization. Set includes sizes 8mm-26mm XL.

A cheap metal used to make tools. Fucking guarantee.

Love the design. Very helpful. However, the quality of the material is poor. When I first used 10mm the static side broke. I called Apex Tools. I was told that they do not have a lifetime guarantee on their products. They have never had a lifetime guarantee on any of their products. And then call back to complain about the ad. They then told me they lied to me that they had a lifetime warranty due to a manufacturer defect. I don't think I'll buy another tooth wrench after this experience…

Pros
  • Out-of-the-corner loading design at the end of the box provides better support and reduces buckle rounding
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Not my first GearWrench set. Unfortunately, the 8 and 9 mm keys are bent, which is clearly visible in the photo. 8mm bent just behind the pivoting end and 9mm further inside the same end. 13mm and 16mm also curved if you look closely. Please contact customer service to replace these four. If not returned. Compare them to Matco's XL box wrench. If I had to guess, I think the stamping is causing the warping. The Matco embossing is much finer compared to the steel bar. At a minimal cost of 3 times

Pros
  • Kit includes 8-26mm XL
Cons
  • I won't say anything

You get what you pay for

At $116 plus tax at the time, I jumped at buying them. However, I realized that $9.00 for a wrench isn't bad at all for something of high quality, and I've had good luck with gear wrenches in the past. I work as a mechanic and use them at least every other day and I really like them. The longer than usual size is a plus and I've considered getting flex head wrenches of the same style, but the straight design and fewer moving parts make them more reliable. Another plus is that there are no…

Pros
  • Size is conveniently stamped on both ends of bar for quick identification
Cons
  • There are problems

Use professional auto shop data 6 days a week

These are my favorite tools. The 5 degree and reverse ratchet will come in handy throughout the day. Very comfortable in the hand. Strong enough to break bolts. Some of the ratchets broke within the first five months of use. I tried contacting Gearwrench and they sent me through Revain and then Revain brought me back to them. I'm still trying to replace at least five of them under that supposed warranty. My number is 10 13 15 16 18 the ratchet doesn't work. Don't get me wrong, I'm not…

Pros
  • 72 tooth socket requires at least 5° to move fasteners versus 30° for standard wrenches
Cons
  • Almost ok

You saved me so much time.

The extra length makes a big difference. My main use for them are caliper bracket bolts. On some cars and trucks, suspension parts interfere directly behind these bolts. You can't even get a regular socket and ratchet in there, but this wrench fits easily. Hello 18mm GM Truck Bracket Bolt! What about Nissan Altima rear brakes? Hyundai Elantra - where is one of the bolts in the back where the tie rod is attached? Now it's not a problem. How about a simple oil change? Yes, they have also become…

Pros
  • 0° cranked end with no ratchet for popping snaps
Cons
  • No instructions
