Bought some old classic records

Flea market for memories. I'm in my 60's and my dad loved listening to records. We had two types of music, which is kinda funny - classical and western. I'm talking about Mozart with Patsy Cline or Marty Robbins! I listened to Western records, but I liked the classics best. We had a hi-fi in the room with shelves above the turntable as a piece of furniture - that modern Danish look that a lot of people need these days. So after finding some classic records, I needed a turntable to play them. Iโ€ฆ

Turntable to match - not quite DJ quality and not the best option for home use

While Gemini is remembered by DJs as a competitor (along with Stanton) to the mighty Technics in the heyday of vinyl DJing, that was a long time ago. Here we have the Gemini branding, which is a nominal variant of the Audio Technica AT-LP120 (made by the same manufacturer), with a little more motor torque but without some key features like the dust cover. Not a huge fan of the AT-LP120 due to its mostly plastic construction and mediocre arm and controls, and the same issues apply to thisโ€ฆ

Gemini direct drive is a gem; here it is compared to the cheaper Audio Technica belt drive

Get Gemini if โ€‹โ€‹you need DJ features, AT-120X for audiophiles.

Comparing this Gemini to its most likely competitor (Audio-Technica AT-LP120X) as an audiophile (non-DJ) player, Audio-Technica has a better cartridge, more features (e.g. a dust cover) and more build quality. The AT also has less wow and flutter (0.20%) compared to the Gemini (0.25%, according to the instructions). However, the Gemini has on-the-fly arm height adjustment. Compared to DJ turntables, Gemini claims to have "higher torque" and it picks up speed almost instantly (although it goesโ€ฆ
