Unreliable Tool for Industrial Measurements

I purchased this tool for my industrial and scientific needs but it has been a total disappointment. Despite being marketed as "precision stainless", the accuracy is highly questionable and inconsistent. The only positive aspect is its compact size. However, it is not worth the investment as it cannot be relied upon for critical measurements.

Pros
  • Pros- Compact size
Cons
  • Cons- Inconsistent accuracy, not reliable for critical measurements.

My favorite ruler: Linear measurement

I've had a couple of rulers that I didn't like for one reason or another. I bought one of these a while back and I really like it because: 1. it's thin so you can lay it down on paper, wood etc and place your marks very accurately; 2. It has a certain flexibility that allows it to follow a curved surface (e.g. a curved board); 3. It has both English and metric markings; 4. Millimeters are at the top of one side which I like about a lot of things because 162mm is easier to work with than say 6…

Pros
  • Black engraving with ultra fine graduations showing ruler divisions 0.5mm, 32, 8 and 16
Cons
  • Something else

Good ruler for linear measurements

I used wooden and plastic rulers that I found at the supermarket. These things break. This should stay with me for a long time. It's thinner than I expected, which is good because it's flexible and pliable. I snapped a cheap wooden ruler with a metal edge using it as a die cutter to make creases on a cardboard box I was making so I could fold the box along the creases. Then I decided that I should use a metal ruler instead. This one also doesn't work as a punch because it's very thin, so I…

Pros
  • Ruler also has a hanging hole
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
