I purchased this brush and installed it myself in less than five minutes. Look for videos on YouTube, but you don't need a "tool", a screwdriver worked for me. This brush rod improved the pickup on my DC 14 Low Reach as my original rod was 90% missing bristles after 8 years. I think it's because I have carpet, hardwood and tile.
