Hoover 38528 027 Belts: Genuine Pack for Ultimate Performance Review

The company claims that belt 38528-040 is an acceptable replacement for 38528-027. IT IS NOT SUITABLE. NOT EVEN CLOSE TO. Do not worry.

This is about how much this belt needs to be stretched to fit. As the rubber ages and hardens I imagine this will be impossible.

The number printed on the belt is NOT 38528-027. This is 38528-041. It has worked fine on my vacuum so far, but I could not find any evidence that the 041 belt corresponds to the 027 belt.

The belts received were not 38528-027 but marked 35828-040. Hoover claims that 38528-040 replaces 38528-027. But the new straps are shorter and cannot be donned. I ended up using a belt I bought at Walmart that was designed for another legacy vacuum. This strap was about a quarter inch longer and I was able to fit it. Works perfectly.

The part I ordered was wrong. I got it working but the part number on the strap is different than what I ordered. It may have been a spare number, but I don't think that's the case due to the complexity of the setup. Please note that an ordinary person cannot complete the installation, and despite the difficulty of the installation, the life of the belt will be shortened.
