Works well, pleasant to use, slightly fibrous

I wanted to experiment with my new printer and try wood infills. I didn't want to buy a huge roll so this 200g roll seemed perfect. I also wanted it to be real wood filler, not the usual PLA that just looks like wood. That's the real deal and my office smells really good. The faint smell of burnt wood was quite pleasant. I used a standard 0.4mm diameter brass nozzle on my Prusa I3 MK3 and it worked fine. A few dogs are shown, as well as an eel and an anchor which I sanded and painted, both on…

Pros
  • Extrusion die temperature: 220-230 C; Heated build platform recommended
Cons
  • No Auto

Good wood filament suitable for 3D printing consumables

This thread works great. This is the only wood thread I've used so far, so I don't have a comparison. It's actually no more brittle than standard PLA on a roll. However, it is definitely much weaker than regular PLA. Personally, I didn't care because I use ABS or nylon for functional parts anyway. For most prints I used a nozzle temperature of 210°C and a bed temperature of 60°C, but it prints well between 190 and 250°C. You can get a grainy effect by changing the temperature and most…

Very hard pressure. - Additive Manufacturing Products

Good thing: It's wood - literally wood-filled plastic. The resulting prints have some of the properties of wood, which is great. I've seen complaints of weakness, but that's to be expected with any filler not added specifically for strength. Taking into account the shortcomings, it produces very good prints that have met my expectations. Disadvantages: Adhesion of the first layer requires some effort. Even with my very good build bed material, it took a few tries at a platform temperature of…
