GlassAlike Decora Acrylic Mirror Plate Review

I ordered on August 14, 2015. Everything went well except the back of the mirror failed after about 8 months. And when that happens, it happens fast, so it looks terrible now. I'm attaching a photo - look at the area next to the switch.

Well I was a bit skeptical after reading the comments as I was afraid it would look very cheap. I was wrong. I think it's perfect for the price and it looks like real glass! However, there were small marks under each self-tapping screw, but they were not noticeable at all! Overall 5/5 stars!

The panel has a nice high gloss finish BUT it scratches and breaks very easily. When installing, be sure to tighten the screws so they are not flush with the outlet. When I inserted the plug into the outlet, the switch plate broke because it wasn't flush with the outlet. Looks nice, but you have to be careful.

They look great in my new kitchen. I was disappointed when I opened the box and saw the warnings. You need a microfiber cloth or something really soft to clean them as they scratch easily hmm. They are outlet covers and should be more durable. You can not use Windex or harmful cleaning agents on it. I'm a practical person and I don't find it practical.

Bought these for my new home to complement the white glass tile on the splashback. The photos do not really represent the product. The plates appear to be almost white in the pictures, but they are actually mirrored. They look very nicely assembled. Would buy again. A word of caution. Make sure you purchase the spacers provided unless you are installing on a smooth surface like a mirror.

Without the gasket, this plate will not sit flush unless the mount mounting screws are below the surface of the mirror. Usually the screws are not that deep. So be prepared to pay extra for a spacer for each panel. Acrylic has the appearance of glass but is much more durable. The edge of the bevel is wavy. You only see the waves in close-up, but that's a clear sign that the plate isn't glass.

I have a wall mirror with a cut out for the deco rocker switch but it didn't look good in the center of my mirror. So I found this wall panel to match my mirrored wall. Looks the same as a wall panel with a well-matched glass mirror. I wish the ugly screws were hidden or matched too. The only problem is that when using Windex on my mirrored wall I have to be careful that it doesn't hit the wall plate.
